Verification

Verification unlocks withdrawal and raises your top-up limit from €400 to €10,000. It is done in the mobile app and usually takes a few minutes.

Why do I need to verify my identity?

Because the law requires it. CO2IN handles money, so it has to know who its customers are — this is the same anti-money-laundering obligation that applies to banks. Verification is what lets CO2IN offer withdrawal and meaningful limits at all.

How do I verify my account?

In the mobile app, work through the verification section on the Home screen. It covers:

  • your phone number and email address
  • your address and date of birth
  • a short questionnaire
  • a photo of your identity document, and a photo of your face

CO2IN staff review the result once you have completed every part. A company account also asks for details about the business itself.

Verification is app-only. You can register in the Client Portal, but you cannot verify there.

Which documents can I use?

Your national ID card or passport, issued by one of the supported countries — the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

What can I do once I am verified?

Withdrawal switches on, and your cumulative top-up limit rises from €400 to €10,000 — or to €4,000 if you are under 18. If you need more than that, ask — support@co2in.com can raise it.

CO2IN may still request additional information for individual withdrawals where its anti-money-laundering policy requires it.

Why are you asking for so much information?

Three reasons, all connected: confirming who you are, understanding where your money comes from, and understanding what you intend to use the account for.

Together these let CO2IN assess the risk attached to an account — which is what makes higher limits possible. An account nobody understands cannot be given them.

My verification failed. What should I try?

Most failures come from the document photos rather than from your account. CO2IN uses iDenfy to check that the document is genuine and that it matches the photo of your face, and that check is fussy about image quality.

Before trying again:

  • use bright, even light, and avoid glare on the document
  • hold the document flat and photograph it straight on, not at an angle
  • fill the frame with the document, and keep your face close to the camera
  • make sure nothing covers the edges of the document

If it still fails, write to helpdesk@co2in.com — verification problems go to the helpdesk rather than to general support, and someone will work through it with you.
