Inviting friends¶
Inviting friends is the largest achievement — 200 CO2IN across four tiers, out of 214 CO2IN available altogether. It is also the one that most often fails to register, almost always for the same two reasons.
How does it work?¶
Press INVITE on the achievement to get your personal invite link, and send it to someone. When they open an account through that link and verify it, the invite counts.
What are the tiers worth?¶

The thresholds are cumulative, not additional. Tier 2 asks for 5 friends in total, which includes the one from tier 1 — so it is four more, not five.
Completing all four tiers means 30 verified friends and 200 CO2IN.
What counts as a successful invite?¶
All of the following, in order:
- Your friend opens your invite link
- on a mobile device
- installs the CO2IN app and creates a new account
- and completes verification in full
The reward arrives once they are verified — not when they sign up.
Why didn't my invite count?¶
Two causes account for nearly all of them.
The link was opened on a computer. Your invite link has to be opened on a phone or tablet. Opened on a desktop it lands on the generic join page, and the information about who invited them is lost — with no way to reattach it afterwards.
The app was closed during sign-up. The app holds the invitation temporarily while the account is being created. If it is shut down partway through, that information goes with it.
There is also the obvious one: the reward only lands once your friend has verified, not merely registered. If they have signed up but not finished verification, the invite is waiting rather than lost.

Are there rules about who I can invite?¶
Two, both of which mean an invite will not count:
- Nobody under 15 can verify an account, for legal and contractual reasons — so they cannot complete an invite.
- Duplicate accounts do not work. Creating extra accounts to claim invite rewards leads to those accounts being suspended.
