Buying and selling¶
Buying and selling happen in the Trading tab. Both cost a percentage fee, and the amount available at any moment depends on whether the underlying market is open.
How do I buy CO2IN?¶
Top up your wallet first, then open the Trading tab and choose Buy. Enter how many CO2IN you want, check the price and fee, and confirm.
Two things cap what you can buy: the euros in your wallet, and the quantity currently on offer — see why availability changes.
How do I sell CO2IN?¶
Open the Trading tab and choose Sell. Enter the quantity, review the price and fee, and confirm.
What does it cost?¶
1.00% to buy, 2.00% to sell. The fee is shown before you confirm — see fees for the full picture.
Why does the amount I can buy or sell change?¶
Because every CO2IN must be covered by an EU emission allowance that CO2IN actually holds. The amount you can buy is therefore limited by how many allowances are held and not already covering credits in circulation.
During business hours — 9:00–17:00 CE(S)T, Monday to Friday — the allowance market is open, so CO2IN can buy more allowances as demand arrives and you are unlikely to meet a limit.
Outside those hours the allowance market is closed. CO2IN cannot add to its holdings, so what is available to buy is whatever is already held and uncommitted — a finite amount, which another user may have taken before you.
Why did my order fail?¶
Usually one of:
- Not enough funds — not enough euros to buy, or not enough CO2IN to sell.
- Not enough available — the quantity on offer ran out, most likely outside business hours.
- Trading paused — occasionally and briefly.
All of these are temporary. If an order fails during business hours, contact support@co2in.com.
Why doesn't the price move at weekends?¶
The CO2IN price tracks the price of EU emission allowances, which only trade during market hours on business days. No trades means no new price, so the figure you see overnight and at weekends is the last one the market set.
